Richard C. Frey Fine Arts is proud to offer its clients professional fine art appraisal services. Our team consists of a full-time, trained appraisers, researchers and office staff. Our appraisers are members of the International Society of Appraisers, a professional organization meant to serve the public by producing highly qualified and ethical appraisers who are recognized authorities in their field. Richard C. Frey, ISA CAPP is a Certified Appraiser of Personal Property specializing in fine art and a Life Member of the International Society of Appraisers. Richard has more than three decades of experience performing appraisals in northern California, across the nation and overseas. In addition to our stellar staff, we have one of the most extensive and complete research libraries in Northern California with approximately 10,000 volumes in print, as well as memberships to numerous online resources and subscriptions to many trade publications. We complete appraisals for purposes of determining a fair asking or selling price, obtaining insurance coverage, establishing an amount for a non-cash charitable contribution, and determining federal or state estate tax liabilities, among others. We also perform consultations to form an opinion about non-monetary issues such as the authenticity of a painting or the market in which a work of art can be sold in the most lucrative manner.
